Kasparov singled out his game against Murugan as the best of that day, and was very impressed by the strategic understanding of the youngster. Murugan is of [[Sri Lankan descent and was born on 11 December — the same day as Indian Chess Player Viswanathan Anand. He currently attends a school in south-west London.[2]
